Phi is a symbol of mathematical progression which is recognised throughout architecture, the arts and nature where it is esteemed as a measure of balance, proportion and beauty. We see it in the spirals of a sunflower, the curve of a Nautilus shell (on which our logo is based), the columns of the Parthenon and in the rhythm and construction of music.
Phi is also the Greek symbol used for the denotation of flux (lumens) in lighting and many would recognise the circle with the vertical line. We concluded that this positive relationship between people, science, nature, architecture and light fitted perfectly with our intentions and Phi was then the obvious metaphor.
Our site has some interesting images in relation to Phi, we hope you like them.
Our business together evolves quickly to mirror rapid changes in user, cultural and technological landscapes. So, we too adapt, to embrace these changes. Nevertheless, one thing remains constant: our conviction that it is people who do business.
Since 2003 Phi Lighting has been engaged in the design, development, manufacture and sale of high quality, design-led lighting products and systems which add value and benefit through technical innovation.
