Phi is lighting the way in a new photography building at the Arts University Bournemouth (AUB).
Forming part of a £17m campus development, the four storey facility – which includes flexible teaching space, IT suites and a lecture theatre – will provide a new gateway to the AUB campus.
Phi’s Stria LED fittings will be installed in the new building which is due to be completed later this year.
Influenced by photographic processes, the main facade will feature an array of digitally-printed glazed fins that will act as a filter to reflect, diffuse and moderate daylight into the building.
The building will take the form of a black box with apertures acting as roof lights, windows and ventilation louvres allowing controlled natural light and air through the atrium and circulation spaces providing low-energy environmental control.
